A Trip to the Heart of Podravina
Is it possible to discover from the painting and artistic heritage of the region how people once lived here and how they live today? Of course, just engage your senses and imagination as you travel towards Central Podravina, a region known for its unique artistic expression called – naive art. In addition to the cultural heritage, you will discover untouched nature and experience a sense of peace and spiritual connection at the Shrine of the Mother of God in Molve.
PROGRAM SCHEDULE:
Day 1 – June 15th, 2025 – Sunday
Departure in the morning hours. Upon arrival in Virje, free time for coffee. Next, drive to Molve and visit the votive chapel, accompanied by a story about the history of the place. After that, attend a Holy Mass at the Shrine of the Mother of God of Molve, starting at 11:00 AM. Following the Mass, a tour of the church and the sanctuary. Then, depart for the Čambina Hunting Lodge in the Repaš Forest, where lunch will be served with traditional local specialties. After lunch, free time for a walk through the forest and an educational trail. In the afternoon, drive to Gola and visit the Ivan Večenaj Gallery, a master of naive art. To conclude the program, head to Ješkovo for an artistic ceramics workshop, with a visit to the Park of Famous Podravci. Return in the evening.
